Shanghai Tai is this weeks Featured Artist on Share the Love, Blogger’s Unite. My journey in jewelry-making began in Shanghai, China. While living there I learned about pearls; first buying pearl jewelry while shopping with the other tai tais (wives), then designing my own personal jewelry and having it made by the shops there, and buying a variety of pearls. With my family I also traveled extensively in China in addition to other parts of Asia. After returning to the U.S., I began taking jewelry classes in order to use the large supply of pearls I had accumulated. My shop is named “Shanghai Tai” because one tai character means “too”, as in “too much”, “too expensive”, like “extreme”. Two of the same character together though, is tai tai, which means “wife” or “Mrs.” To me, Shanghai Tai represents the lifestyle that western expat women live in Asia. My designs often have an Asian influence as a result of my many travels and exposure to Eastern cultures.Find Shanghai Tai online @:

Monday's Madness: Oct 8
Here we are once again. It's Monday morning, and I have to figure out what I need to work on this week. I'm running low on items to list in the shop that are ready for listing (ie they have photographs and written descriptions), so I need to get photographs of my new items, and finish up a few items that need their ends woven in. So without further ado, here is what I hope to accomplish this week.
- Photograph my Halloween items and prepare them for listing
- Photograph my other new items and prepare them for listing (but after Halloween items are done)
- Weave in ends on four hats
- Crochet up my odds 'n ends into key fobs, flowers, and drink cozies, depending on available lengths.
- Update my database (I'm behind...again)

Custom Order Quilts for Your Memories!

April’s Dawn Creations
Unique Handmade Gifts for Any OccasionApril’s Dawn Creations makes Gifts for Any Occasion! I am a local artist who enjoys all sorts of crafting and creative projects. All of my products are the result of many years of crafting passed down to me from more than three generations of crafters. With a geneology linked to the Native American tribes, I try to incorporate that aspect of my crafts and artwork in the products I sell.
I both create and market many handmade products most of which are fiber arts, quilting, and wood works. These items are great for gifts, special occasions, or for yourself. Everything is handmade by me, or a select few of my close relatives.

Monday Madness: October 1
Here we are again. It's Monday. I fell through on a few posts last week mostly because the two boys had immunizations at the beginning of the week and they were miserable the rest of the week. Poor Sammy limped for a few days because the nurse was a mean one. Husband is going to lodge a complaint against her. Seth was a bit irritable, but he managed to sleep through most of that.
I finished up a lot last week, so most of what I have to do this week is "finishing touches," so to speak. I need to:

Hi, My name is Regina McDonald, but friends call me Gina. I have been making jewelry for quite some time and truly enjoy it!Interests
I am very interested in learning to work glass, lampworking specifically, I just haven’t gotten brave enough to buy the torch and I don’t know where I would put it. I think my hubby would have a serious talk with me as My Studio is pretty full!Featured Artisan – Chrysalis Designs by RM
Regina McDonald also known to friends and family as Gina is the artist behind Chrysalis Designs. She currently resides in Chattahoochee, Florida with her husband, Larry in a small house outside of Chattahoochee surrounded by woods and wildlife. She started making jewelry some time ago when she was a Large Sized woman and had real problems buying anything off the shelf. Over time the necessity to make jewelry became a lot more, she found that she had a real knack for designing, a good eye for color and a real talent for the technicality of the process and that she loved it! All of those things shine through in her work. She loves working with semi-precious gemstones, Swarvoski (TM) crystal, Czech beads, sterling silver, copper, polymer clay, glass and many other mediums. When asked where her talent comes from, she is quick to answer that “There is only one I can give the credit to and that blessing comes from God.”
