Plans for the Week: April 20 - April 26

Share/Bookmark
This will hopefully be my final week of crocheting small projects from partial skeins for a while. I have made a lot of new items, but I still have a few more skeins to work with. I will be spending a lot of my time in the kitchen this week restocking my freezer with baked-up goodness, so I am only going to plan some quick crochets for larger sets. I've been thinking for a while now about making up a set of buy -n- sell fruits and vegetables for every toddler/child's first market stand, and although I had made up a few patterns on my own, I had a few vegetables that were fast becoming the bane of my crochet existence (darn you, corn on the cob, darn you!). So I went digging for patterns. Finally found a set at Drops Designs: http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/us/pattern.php?id=5835&lang=us

I will be making some of those pieces this week when my oven and I give out.

What I Made This Week: April 5 - April 19

This is actually a two week sprawl of finished projects. I managed to almost half my scrap basket (not including all the off white yarn that I took out that is to be used for bunny bodies). I'm going to weave in all the ends in a little while, after I get Sam's stuff set out for work.

It's mostly headbands and drink cozies, but there are two cowls in the mix, an adult scarf, a toddler scarf, two keychains, a set of rainbow ponytail holders, and some flowers.

Wednesday's WIPs

Share/Bookmark
Because I have been working on small projects, I do not have much for my WIPs photo this week. I only have one project that's a WIP, and that's a headband that I can sit down and have finished in about another 15 minutes of solid stitching on it.

Plans for the Week: April 13 - April 19

I didn't get my blog posts listed yesterday due to the fact that digging out and preparing my herb bed took a lot longer than I had anticipated.  I will save all the finished items for next week's What I Made post, and I'll post my Herb bed pictures for my next garden post.  But anywho, on the the plans for the week.

Another week of me cleaning out my yarn stash. Still using up some of my partial skeins because, I'll be honest..., I have a lot of them. I have several small projects that I want to get done this week. I plan to complete at least two items of each of the following projects.

Project 2: Boho Head Scarf

Project 3: Crochet Snood

Project 4: Princess Tiara

Project 5: Snuggle Bunnies

Wednesday WIPs:

I only have one item that is still a WIP this week, but.... I want to keep it a secret until it's done because I think it's pretty awesome looking. So, check back on Friday for the unveiling of the completed piece.

Plans for the Week: April 6 - April 12

This week's line-up is still mostly crochet, if not all crochet. Due to a few yarn donations, my acquired collection has outgrown it's boundaries (it doesn't fit in the armoire anymore). A lot of it is just odds and ends though. Not really enough for a hat, but a decent amount to do something with. This is going to be headband and childrens' hats week, I think. I have pulled several patterns from Ravelry.com, and I'm hoping to make at least 5 unique patterns before Saturday.

Project 3: The Genius Headband (no, I didn't name it)

Project 4: Shell Stitch Beanie (this is my fall-back hat for when I have more than 10 yards of yarn, but less than 40 yards)

Project 5: Little Flowers

We will also be planting the majority of our garden this week, so I may not get a lot of crochet work done, but I'll post what I complete.

What I Made This Week: March 30 - April 5

I spent most of the week trying to make heads or tails of my ready made inventory and my yarn cabinet, so a lot didn't get made this week, but I still managed to finish a fair share of what I wanted to complete. I finished up all my partial cotton skeins, crocheted two scarves, and started on my partial yarn skein basket. I will have a lot of small projects featuring for a while as I clean out my partial skein acrylic stash.

I still have about seven full skeins of cotton and a cone of cotton to make into washcloths. And then whatever is left of them will become coasters and such.
